150th Kentucky Derby

The 150th Kentucky Derby will be run on Saturday, May 4th, 2024 at Churchill Downs. With the number of competitors capped at 20 horses each year, Kentucky Derby hopefuls must compete in a series of races known as the Road to the Kentucky Derby. Contenders earn a set amount of points based on how they place in each race, with the 20 top-ranking horses earning the opportunity for a spot in the starting gate.
